10 TIPS FOR IMPROVING ORAL / DENTAL HYGIENE
- Brush morning and night.
- Don’t move your brush across the surface, hold it in one place.
- Floss daily. Floss only those teeth you want to keep!!
- Bacteria that lives in plaque, hides under the gums so angle your
toothbrush (½ on the tooth & ½ on the gum), 45 degrees into the gum.
- Bacteria also live between the teeth, where the teeth touch -
floss is the only way to get in between.
- Bacteria give off a sulphate odour (like the Rotorua smell),
so use Prefresh mouth wash.
- Bacteria live between your taste buds so brush your tongue daily,
especially in the morning.
- If you see any bleeding, brush and floss again to remove
any toxic blood from your gums.
- Ask which gum disease you have in your mouth when you
see your Dental Hygienist.
- See your Dental Hygienist regularly at the Dental Hygiene Clinic.
